Stora Enso is looking for an Internal Audit Senior Manager/Director to join our Group Internal Audit team located in Helsinki. As Group Internal Audit Team, we develop our capabilities and processes to respond flexibly to changes including technology, artificial intelligence, and professional best practices.

The purpose of Group Internal Audit at Stora Enso is to provide independent and objective assurance and consultative services designed to add value and improve Stora Enso Group’s operations, risk management and internal control system. We support Stora Enso Group to accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to assess the effectiveness of internal control, risk management and governance processes. Head of Internal Audit reports to Stora Enso Board of Directors, Financial and Audit Committee and Sustainability and Ethics Committee on regular basis. Stora Enso Internal Audit comply mainly with IIA standards.

As Internal Audit Senior Manager/Director you will be a contact person for one of our business divisions and your responsibility is to maintain relationships with the divisions management on regular basis. Your responsibility is to support in internal audit annual planning process, conduct independently approved group and divisional audits in co-operation with team members, coordinate audits and report the results to the auditees and divisions leadership team on regular basis. In case of external service providers are used your role is to coordinate the audit process and assure adequate communication with key stakeholders. You will use Stora Enso Internal Audit tool (TeamMate) which supports to follow structured audit and follow-up process and to create standard reports for auditees. As part of audit, we expect you to have capabilities to use data analytic tools and make analysis which supports audit findings. Stora Enso Internal Audit co-operates and coordinate work with external auditors on regular basis to assure efficient assurance work and structured processes.

Group Internal Audit function is located in the beautiful new head office building in Katajanokka, Helsinki where we wish to welcome you to work as well. You will report to the Head of Stora Enso Internal Audit Function.

Who are we looking for?

In order to succeed in this role, you have a strong experience of conducting internal audit in international companies covering both business and compliance-based audits. You should demonstrate high level of business ethics and feel secure to follow Stora Enso values of Lead and Do what’s right. You also have strong experience in reporting and communicating audit work and results to the top management and other key stakeholders. Data analytics is a normal part of your professional audit work. Your proficiency is based on Master’s level degree in relevant field. Professional Internal Audit certifications like e.g. CIA, CISA are beneficial and/or you have used key frameworks and best practices related to internal control system and risk management in your work. As sustainability is key for Stora Enso business your experience or interest to develop yourself in the areas of CSRD is beneficial. External auditor experience or background will be seen beneficial as well.

As an Internal Audit Senior Manager/Director, you think creatively and generate innovative ideas and you are able to plan and coordinate your own workload efficiently with quality. You are a team player, able to work in team and independently and under pressure, you are a great communicator and you write fluently in Finnish and English. Additional languages are an advantage. This position requires limited travelling.
