Dear Member, ”Connecting the World Through Innovation” is the theme for The IIA’s 2018 International Conference. The virtues of innovation for business success have been recognized worldwide and have never been more extolled than in this age of technological excellence. To continue innovating and to keep pace with change is vital for business continuity. Underpinning this theme is the critical question: What are we as internal auditors doing to recognize this climate of change? There are bold new opportunities just waiting for internal auditors to enhance and protect organizational value. What are we doing to take the time-honored internal auditing concepts such as Risk Management, Corporate Governance, Compliance, etc., to the next level to help our organizations become more innovative? The program will feature keynote sessions that specifically focus on each of these high-level themes, and the educational program topics must encompass some or several of these themes as part of the presentation delivery. The IIA is seeking dynamic presenters who can connect with their audience and share practical ”how to” solutions as well as thought-provoking insights to address current and future internal audit challenges. You are invited to nominate yourself or forward this invitation to other high-caliber presenters with whom you are familiar and believe would add value to the program. If you intend to nominate yourself, please describe what innovation you can bring to your session delivery to actively engage with your audience. You are also welcome to submit other topics you find relevant within the specified educational tracks. Additionally, the 2018 International Conference will include a one-day track designed especially for Audit and Risk Committee Members. The 2018 conference will also feature a number of discussion-based sessions with ”TED Talk” style presentations within the Industry Spotlight portion of the agenda. Please consider that speaking at the conference is a volunteer opportunity. Compensation for speaking fees and travel is not provided unless otherwise indicated. If you need assistance with travel, please indicate that in your submission. Speakers who are selected to deliver a session will receive a complimentary pass to the full conference.
