Last Autumn, in 2021, the Internal Audit Foundation, in collaboration with The IIA, deployed its largest global survey since 2015 to gather information about internal audit focus, how functions meet expectations, conformance to the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, and demographic trends worldwide. This survey was distributed to internal auditors via email and social media from July to September of 2021. More than 3,600 responses were received from 159 countries and territories in all regions of the world.
